DOMESTIC WASTEWATER TREATMENT

In the domestic wastewater treatment sector, our experience ranges from small systems serving individual households to urban settlements with up to 2,000 population equivalents. Up to this threshold, according to Legislative Decree 152/06 as amended, regulatory authority is delegated to individual Regions, which over time have adopted legislative and technical instruments and identified the purification objectives to be met.

These regulatory instruments invariably require a type of biological treatment, implemented in the various forms found in literature. These are the same traditional techniques we use: low-load activated sludge, SBR, MBBR, MBR, and trickling filters. However, it is in the field of extensive treatment systems, with our vertical flow phytodepuration systems, that we can confidently claim to be a national leader, with a track record of over 300 systems installed. Our long history of implementation (which began back in 1988 and is not limited solely to domestic wastewater, as can be seen on our old website), has led us to refine our technical and design solutions, ultimately developing a type of system with ideal environmental sustainability characteristics.

The environmental impact is extremely low, while operating and maintenance costs are significantly reduced compared to more traditional systems. Furthermore, by building the systems directly at the user’s site (a “zero-mile” approach), significant costs for connection to the existing sewer system can be saved. The types of domestic wastewater (or wastewater comparable to domestic) for which these applications are suitable include: scattered residential clusters not connectable to the public sewer system, campsites, tourist and hotel facilities, shopping centers, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.).
