PHYTOFILTER
Prefabricated vertical phytodepuration module
DESCRIPTION
The PHYTOFILTER module is an attached biomass biological treatment system, and represents the ideal solution for treating wastewater from small domestic users not served by sewerage. It is sized based on the following data:
- Influent flow rate of 250 liters per population equivalent per day
- Organic load of 60 g of BOD5 per population equivalent per day
It consists of a prefabricated tank made of plastic material. It is delivered to the site complete with all components and ready to be installed in a specially prepared excavation trench.
The final appearance of the system is pleasant, fitting perfectly even in an urban context, appearing entirely similar to a flower bed. There are no odor or pest production, noise or energy consumption due to motors external to the system. Routine maintenance is limited to regular and adequate maintenance of the primary sedimentation tanks.
Upstream of the system, sedimentation tanks must be installed (Imhoff and grease trap, or alternatively a 3-chamber tank) whose sizing is extremely important to optimize system operation. The discharge of treated water will go into a surface water body or onto the ground (through sub-irrigation or discharge into a partially dry drainage ditch).
